Volunteering at the Santa Cruz Canton Beast Shelter

All volunteers must exist fully vaccinated to piece of work at the Animal Shelter . How Do I Become a Volunteer?

Step #i: Attend a Volunteer Orientation – ALL Volunteers must be fully vaccinated!!

Step #2: Fill out the Animal Shelter Volunteer Agreement AND the Volunteer Initiative Program Application. (Dog volunteers receive this at Canis familiaris TLC grade, Cat Volunteers receive earlier mentoring session)

Footstep #3: Dog volunteers nourish a Dog TLC class at the Shelter. Cat and Rabbit Volunteers watch species specific training video (Click here for Cat TLC Video)

Pace #4: one:ane Mentor preparation with an experienced volunteer

Step #5: Sign up for a volunteer shift!

If you are eighteen years of age or older, you lot may volunteer to piece of work hands on with the animals at the shelter. If y'all are 12 –17 years former, you may work with the animals as long as yous partner with a parent or legal guardian AT ALL TIMES, including during orientation and trainings. Both the youth and guardian must utilise every bit volunteers and attend required trainings and orientation

Youth under the age of 12 may want to check into the later-school program through the Santa Cruz Canton Creature Shelter. This program applies to community service requirements and is a slap-up mode for youth to help. Membership is required and space in the Clubs is very limited, so register or contact our Humane Education Program today!

Attending a General Volunteer Orientation is the beginning footstep in condign a volunteer with us. At this session yous will larn about the shelter and about available volunteer opportunities. Delight be aware that doors close promptly at the time the orientation starts.
